2019 - Present

Director of Marketing & Advertising

I currently oversee all facets of marketing, advertising, and public relations for the second-largest temperature-controlled truckload shipper in the nation, along with working in the same role amongst our four transportation family of companies nationwide. With an ad spend of more than six figures a month, I craft external communications, place digital/television/print ad buys, cultivate media relationships, and create short/long term strategies with other executives and divisions. In just more than one year, we reached historically high KPI’s for our industry while saving money, and driving revenue. I’ve continued to gain more responsibilities in this role over the last few years working seamlessly with all the divisions in our company and directly with our C-suite.

2018 - 2019

Director of Communications

In this executive role, I directed and led all communications and public relations that came from the Office of the Governor. Whether it was speaking to media, controlling messaging on multiple channels (social, website, TV, radio), or more than 300 public events/appearances a year, I was the decision-making lead for all facets of communications that left our office and were consumed by the public.

The job also entailed delegating duties, overseeing initiatives, providing supervision over a team of executive agencies and staff throughout state government who looked to me regarding issues, and foremost protecting the image of the office and state publicly. There were very few major United States news or media outlets that I didn’t correspond with or work with in this position. Associated Press, New York Times, CNN, and more.

2015 - 2018

Press Secretary

Press Secretary was one of the senior positions in the Office of the Governor and this position was very much like my previous role of Deputy Communications Director, but with a senior responsibility to the office with more leadership and crisis management. Previous roles of strategically putting together all public appearances, marketing any number of diverse initiatives and controlling a message, speechwriting, directing communications, and putting together talking points apply in this position also.

I controlled all social media accounts with my communications partner. This entailed creating content and controlling messaging to more than one million people a week at times. Press secretary served as lead liaison to all media who contacted the office, so I was on a first-name basis with local, statewide, and national media.
